I Wanna GoGo
My first words. Before mama and dada. GoGo. When I’d hear my mom’s keys jingle or see my dad’s lips cave in. His Peace and Goddamn Quiet Face, which were two things he never was. I did feel sorry for him once though. ‘Twas when I last saw my grandpa, and he had reached that ripe old age of confusing me for his son—going from being eternally proud to a bit of a dick.
Bradley Sutherland writes in Tempe, Arizona. His work has appeared, or is appearing in, Bright Flash Literary Review, Short Fiction Break, and Bulb Culture Collective.
